What will happen in an emergency?

Communication from your home to the ADT Customer Care Centre works over telephone lines. So it doesn't matter where your Customer Care Centre is located, the connection time is similar to what you experience when you make a call.

If an alarm is triggered and is not disarmed by entering your passcode, a Customer Care Centre representative will call your home to determine whether the alarm is genuine and the type of assistance you require. Calling your home first helps in determining whether the alarm requires the Emergency Services to attend. By doing this we are able to provide more accurate information to the Emergency Services and help them reduce the possibility of sending false dispatches that can impact their ability to respond to genuine emergencies.

It also helps reduce the chance of you being charged for the costs of any attendances by emergency services to false alarms. If we have been unable to contact you at home, we then automatically follow the emergency action priorities as stated in your contact response list.
