ADT Security introduces Sensormatics first pinless anti-theft tag
ADT Security has released the Sensormatic Ultra•Tag® PT, its first secure, pinless anti-shoplifting
tag. A revolutionary tagging concept, the new tag can help retailers protect a broad range of items
including jeans, leather goods, shoes and handbags that might be more difficult to tag with
traditional anti-theft tags, which are pinned to products.
While the Ultra•Tag® PT will help retailers protect more merchandise and decrease losses, it also
enhances the customer shopping experience by allowing retailers to openly display items for easy
access by the consumer.
Designed with an adjustable spring-loaded metal clip, the Sensormatic Ultra•Tag® PT easily
attaches to products without penetrating any material. The clip compresses firmly onto
merchandise, closing tightly enough to prevent unauthorised removal without damaging items. Its
one-piece design allows the Sensormatic Ultra•Tag® PT to be more easily applied and removed at
the checkout counter.
According to Phil Brown, National Retail Manager, ADT Security Australia, the ability to apply an
anti-theft tag without having to pierce merchandise has long been a desire of retailers.
“It can be difficult to place anti-theft devices on certain merchandise, particularly leather goods and
high end apparel. This new pinless tag is a great way for retailers to help limit losses while offering
the same visual deterrent as more traditional anti-shoplifting tags,” he said.
The benefits of the Sensormatic Ultra•Tag PT include:

handbags, clothing, sporting goods and other hard-to-tag items; - One-piece construction makes for easy and quick tagging of merchandise, so products are

on display; - A high level of security as the tag remains firmly in place and is extremely difficult to remove

The Sensormatic Ultra•Tag PT is the latest tagging solution from the Sensormatic Ultra•Tag
portfolio. Like all other Ultra•Tag products, the pinless version is compatible with the high-strength
Ultra•Tag magnetic detacher. It can be seamlessly integrated into any store environment that
currently employs Ultra•Tag protection.
